This 24-hour course is certified by the Educational Kinesiology Foundation. It is a fun, safe and amazingly effective system for activating and sustaining your learning capabilities. This is accomplished through simple, quick and enjoyable movements that directly enhance brain function. This course teaches the individual how to integrate their brain/body for maximum performance for reading, writing, spelling and memory. Empowering for any individual.

BRAIN GYM® is Edu-K’s readiness program. It prepares students of all ages to practice and master the skills required for the mechanics of learning. The program includes a simple teaching format, a language for stress-free learning, and a series of movements for integrating learning into the physiology. BRAIN GYM® offers the learner a self-directed system with which to pace individual learning needs, building self-esteem through the successful mastery of skills.

This program is distinctive because it addresses the physical (rather than mental) components of learning. It builds on what the learner already knows and does well; it meets the learner just as he or she is, without any judgment of capabilities; and it teaches the student key elements of learning theory that he or she will be able to apply. BRAIN GYM® requires little additional training for the classroom teacher, no testing, no technology, and it enhances (rather than replaces) current curriculum. The program is used as effectively in business, sports, and the arts, as in the classroom.

Specific strategies for improving reading writing, spelling, math, communication and organization skills are included. Patterns of stress and addiction are explained in terms of the brain and physiology. Tools for alleviating these stresses are included.

BRAIN GYM® outcomes for the student or worker include:

OPTIMAL BRAIN ORGANIZATION (OBO)

This 16 hr. Brain Gym® elective introduces the concept of hemispheric specialization, identification and balancing to facilitate whole brain learning. The Dominance Profiles described by the Dennisons identify the lateral dominance of eyes, ears and hands in relation to the dominant brain hemisphere. These patterns of lateral dominance greatly influence the way that an individual internally processes information and consequently the kinds of learning activities he or she prefers. Participants learn to identify their dominance pattern and integration potential.

VISION CIRCLES®

This 24 hr. course provides a roadmap to completion of development skills through movement, play and art. It offers vision enhancement through activities, which nourish perceptual flexibility. Students experience movements for expanded visual, auditory, tactile, kinesthetic and abstract thinking skills. Participants will learn 32 Vision Gym movements for integrating sensory awareness, memory, and information processing.

LEARNING AND GRAVITY
A Balance Playshop

This 16-hour workshop will wake up and expand your ability to think more clearly, coordinate your brain and body together, improve your memory, improve your ability to focus and concentrate; and most of all release physical, mental and emotional stress in your life. In this workshop we will explore how our senses are related to our vestibular system and how this effects learning. TOUCH FOR HEALTH

Touch for Health (Levels I – IV) is a proven process of health management and improvement, based on balancing the structural, chemical, and emotional elements in our bodies.  Every family or individual could benefit from knowing the basic level 1 course to manage their family’s health.  This is something that can be used daily for stresses that rob us of feeling on top of our game and keep us from feeling full of vitality. Level I is also one of the basic fundamental courses for all Kinesiology courses. In Level I we will learn the first 14 pairs of muscles and corresponding neurolymphatic points, neurovascular points, spinal vertebrae technique, meridians, origin and insertion, and how to put it all together to be able to balance the major postural muscles.  We will also learn simple pain relieving and emotional stress release techniques.

Each additional level of Touch For Health adds 14 new muscles until we know the 42 major muscles, correction techniques, theory of the Chinese Law of the Five Elements, etc.

CHILDREN WITH CHALLENGES
Movement Development and Reflex Integration

A 24 hour course with Svetlana Masgutova Ph.D.

This course individualizes programs for children who have different developmental challenges:  displaying aggressive behavior, worry and fear, low learning motivation and laziness, chronic school failure and dyslexia, hyperactivity (ADD and ADHD), autism, cerebral palsy and delayed intellectual and emotional development.
Simple movements and exercises of this program open up for children and adults the possibility of joyful creative learning, personality growth, perspective and effective constructing and development of learning skills and abilities.
The Course for children with developmental challenges presents the Personal Growth and Anti-stress Program:

  • Reduces learning stress;
  • Activates the natural mechanisms of development;
  • Supports special basic developmental and movement skills;
  • Opens up possibilities for positive thinking and changes in life;
  • Facilitates emotions, motivation, and movement development and learning.

In stressful situations the Infant reflexes are being activated and survival behavior on the level of “fight or flight comes to the surface (Moro, Tendon Guard, Symmetric Tonic Neck Reflex and many others).  Stress can accompany the development even during fetal life or infant stage of life and so can influence other developmental stages.

  • Activation of Infant reflexes at later stages narrows awareness, thereby framing activity and development as a whole.
  • Today the level of stress in our life is growing and because of that the number of children acting on the survival level in their behavior, thinking and communication is directly increasing.
  • Stress causes activity and hyperactivity to occur mainly in the back defensive parts of the brain and takes away the energy from the higher front causal parts.  Resulting in lack of concentration, and poor perception, less productive memory, and blocked perspective choices and effective self-realization.
  • Children living under constant stress have challenges and can regress to different negative forms of behavior.
  • Different groups of children have some typical strategy of behavior and movement reactions.
  • Our research material shows the connection of switched off muscles and non-integrated reflexes.

  • What muscles work while performing different exercises and how the whole body structure activates.
  • What basic movement patterns these exercises refer to (from infancy to adulthood).
  • What exercises help to eliminate the negative effect of reflexes on development.
  • How to diagnose motor development of a child (and adult) basing on the way of doing certain exercises.
  • How we can use these exercises through play and metaphor in a dynamic and effective way.

  • How to individualize these exercises for children who experience development and learning challenges, who display negative behavior (aggression, anxiety, hyperactivity, laziness), those having dyslexia, delayed mental development or CP, and many others.


TIBETAN ENERGY

Looking and feeling better is one reason why we seek to improve our energy level. Low energy, fatigue, pain and loss of motivation are all signs that our body is functioning at less than its best. In this workshop, we are considering two other energy systems, which the Tibetans describe as Figure 8' energy flow and Spinning Vortices. The Figure 8's have been shown to be extremely powerful energy corrections that can be used to balance the energy of other systems in the body. The Spinning Vortices are seven magnetic centers that revolve at great speed in a healthy body but when slowed down are the cause of old age, ill health and disease.

SWITCHED-ON GOLF

This eight hour course combines the skills and inner discipline of golf with Educational kinesiology balances and movements. Learn the buddy system and self-referral processes, Brain Gym activities, and the soft skills of golf. The integrated golfer moves from “try” to “natural” for a whole new golf experience. SEVEN DIMENSIONS OF INTELLIGENCE IN-DEPTH

The Edu-Kinesthetics In-Depth course contains the theoretical knowledge and matches it with the unique needs of the student’s own learning process. Using a multi-dimensional approach tha enhances integrated brain/body learning.

In this course, you learn and practice the Advanced Edu-K principles of one-to-one consultation.

  • You receive hands-on experience with the seven dimensions of body movement, focusing on how each can support or block the learning process.
  • Learn goal setting, correlation of body movement to life skills, before and after experience that affirms new growth, application of learning theory and growth-orientated communication.
  • Many new techniques that allow changes to occur are presented within the “Realms” of Structure, Emotions, Acupuncture and Personal Ecology.

BRAIN GYM® TEACHER PRACTICUM

The Brain Gym Teacher Practicum is a professional, experiential training which provides skills that support the emergence of the authentic, creative teacher in each participant. This course gives students a deeper understanding of Educational Kinesiology and an expanded sense of the value of this dynamic learning facilitation process for both personal and professional growth. It is the ‘practicum’ phase of our training program, building upon the knowledge, theory, and experience of the Level I and II courses. Graduates of this course are certified by the Foundation to teach the Brain Gym course, and to present themselves as Brain Gym instructors. The Teacher Practicum empowers the graduate to communicate and network easily and confidently with other professionals in the community.

RESET  – Rafferty Energy System of Easing the Temporomandibular joint (TMJ)

A simple non invasive system of relaxing jaw muscles enabling the Temporomandibular joint to reset.  By relaxing the jaw muschles the TNJ is correctly reset.  The TMJ, due to its central role in cranial and spinal dynamics, affects the uality of the brain/muscular feedback system.  The slightest tension in the jaw muscles can alter the normal ‘balanced’ position of the TMJ, causing confused electrical messages to be relayed throughout the body. When you balance the jaw - you balance the body.  This technique can be done on others lying down or sitting as well as be done on yourself.

MY INNER CHILD:  Integration of Life Long Reflexes into Movement Development

Learn about lifelong reflexes such as gravitation, grounding, balancing, centering, head righting, tendon guard, and others. These reflexes function throughout life so it is important to have them integrated in the whole movement system. They enhance physical skills and sports performance as well as enrich mental clarity for all ages.

Learn how during physical or emotional stress our survival reactions are being activated to help us cope and overcome challenges. On the very basic level the reactions or reflexes of grounding, balancing, etc. are being activated. The reflex activation can narrow our conscience activity and block learning and development.
